Break A Sweat

Competitive. Ryu had always been a competitive person, he didn’t like to lose and he rarely lost. While still continuous with his happy-go-lucky image, his bright and vibrant persona, he would get anything- and everything, that he wanted. In London, his name was engraved into many trophies. Back at home in Kobe his mother proudly displayed all of the titles, plaques and photos he’d mailed to them. He had never been challenged properly, many had tried but no one ever made him burn, made him feel that spark. They would all drop off after one match against Ryu.
Sunhwa’s track and field team was a different beast. For once he had not one, but two people who were better than him. Soojung he relented to, because she was everything. It was no question that she would beat him. Taekwoon was a different story. He was friends with Soojung, he was vice-captain of the track and filed team, he was just a bit taller, his mysterious aura a little bit cooler.
Whenever Soojung would complement him, Ryu would feel his blood boil. Not a feeling of jealousy but a feeling of wanting to do better. A competitive spark ignited in him. Taekwoon seemed to have caught on, they had started exchanging sarcastic words during practice. Ryu would win one race, Taekwoon would take the other. Things had started to get interesting, he had found a worthy opponent.
