hello, folks! we’d like to publicly address some things that have come up recently in the roleplay. we have always been transparent with our members and we think it’s best to tackle what happened out of character on the dash last night with all of you, openly and honestly. so, we’ll talk about what was brought up, what our take is on things, and then open up the discussion for everyone. feel free to contact us either through the main page’s ask box or in our discord dms.
two public posts were made last night by one of our players that talked about out of character issues they had with the roleplay. the post contained comments about how the roleplay is currently operating and interactions, both in and out of character. we know as mods it’s important for us to listen to criticism and suggestions for the roleplay, which we will gladly do. however, more importantly, we felt this post put unnecessary tension on the group and stress on the other members of this roleplay, regardless of if they were “guilty” of the issue or not. we have said it before (many of you respect this and have been communicative and open) but we feel the need to reiterate: we are adults and situations like this should be handled as such. still, we realize this post may have raised some concerns for you all that we want to talk about candidly.
bubble roleplaying: while we have a great group of people and connections here, we would like to remind you all to be receptive to new characters and new plots. this group has been great at making meaningful and unique connections (we see it as one of the strongest parts of this roleplay) but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some characters that have been left behind along the way. we ask that you folks continue to be welcoming and conscious of the players around you and if you ever find yourself in a position where you are feeling left out, please do not hesitate to talk with the mods.
starters/plotting: we have encouraged open starters as a way to create situations for people that may not always get to interact together to do so. that being said, we realize not all starters are fitting for all characters or stories. if there is an problem concerning untagged triggers or personal issues with posts, please bring the matter to us! otherwise, plotting away with each other and making yourself available to do so is our best advice! remember that little connections are just as important as the big ones.
lastly, we’d just like to mention that we honestly took offense to a comment in the post that said this roleplay is “going to crumble”. we feel that undermines all of the new and amazing people we’ve found, both in and out of character. we wholeheartedly believe we have a wonderful collection of writers here, all of whom are kind and talented, and are here to have a good time to write and create together.
at the end of the day, we created this roleplay to have a place to write with friends (new and old) without the constraint of rigid activity rules. roleplay comes second to real life always, and that’s something we will never compromise on.
we love you all. we appreciate all of the time and dedication you put into this place to make it so special to all of us. we hope you feel as at home here as we do. this roleplay will be here for as long as you’ll have us.
