pspspspspsps oc lore? please
Noooooo veggie im so sorry i didnt see the ask. even worse is its a thing i actually want to talk about 😭😭😭
anyway because oc lore is vast and all that im gonna give you original world lore first and if you want more ill give you more loredump on specific characters.
SO. basically, the universe is composed of primordial energy (like space, time, change, etc...), and whenever a big change is shifting this balance, a new primordial energy will emerge, (this has appened with life, the soul and more human-centric stuff)
those energy manifest themselves in "anchors", unique minerals of an incomprehensible composition that shift the "normality" of their respective energy.
Because most of my OCs are centered around the TimeLapse foundation, i'll go into more details about them later, but rn all you need to know is they're basically an SCP-foundation analog. As of now the TimeLapse foundation as designated 8 primordial energies, with only 3 of them without a discernable/known anchor, named taxa (each known anchor is under the designation TLC-AO-001-)
The Decay - all things related to time. Anchor is a large quartz-like crystal that has been moved in the center of the TimeLapse foundation main bunker. it slows time down the closer you get to it (kinda like a black hole minus the gravity thing)
The Mind - ghost, mind control, hallucination, etc... Anchor is an amber-like monolith that acts as the center of a hivemind that only seeks to spread
The Truth - knowledge, perception, reality warping. Anchor is a small cube of diamond with a diamond-shaped hole carved in its center, it alter's the perceptions of people nearby to appear as a being made of white light named "The Librarian", and will manifest around itself an illusion of a large library containing all knowledge that was, is and will be
The Confine - space and dimensionality and liminality and the infinite. the anchor is a blue rock that randomly teleport itself anywhere in the known universe. really hard to contain which sucks for the foundation
The Void - Emptiness, destruction, energy, the fundamental interactions of matter. Anchor is an obsidian-like meteorite that's higly unstable, steals potential energy from things around it until it decides to explode or something worse
The Corpse - flesh, vines, blood, sap, all the appearances life can take. No anchor known
The Crowd - Humanity and the lack of it. the dull and the lively that we are. No anchor known
The Change - Randomness, Chaos. No anchor known
Also because Dawn is litteraly becoming the main character of everything so she was given more trauma:
As the stories of my OCs take place, there's also the emergence of a new primodial energy; The Host - control, very similar to the mind, but also goes further than that, dominion over all that is yours. the anchor is a very small granite-like octahedron that grows constantly into Dawn's current body's brain. when it finaly emerges it goes really bad
Addedum - the reason the foundation knows about those is because of the apotheosis, going in more details below
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
that's for the taxa, now going a lil deeper into the TimeLapse foundation:
created by Dawn as a military-adjacent branch to contain 1 anomaly (TLC-AO-001-A; the quartz crystal of time) after apotheosis.
Apotheosis is an event that happened in 1920, where TLC-AO-001-A crashed into a random french field, and the corssing fields of energy between The Decay and both The Mind and The Corspe whose Anchors were already on earth. it create a big distrubance and anomalies started being more and more common (before then, there were anomalies but either they were really minor or very sparce).
TimeLapse started as a research and containment center for TLC-AO-001-A, with Dawn at the lead of the intervention team in case anything similar happened (ie. strike team to find and contain anomalies).
it slowly evolved in secret into something more complicated until it became a full blown secret agency, in the process, Dawn had declassified the files for the orginal TimeLapse strike team and cut the ties between the foundation and the french government (basically nobody outside of timelapse knew it existed)
After a while she partnered with Caelus Johnson (who had his own underground society, this one was made to create super-brainwashed-soldiers through the bullettrain.exe program; Dawn didn't know about it until he died for ANGST PURPOSES) because of his ties in many governments (especially the US congress) and they divided the foundation in two; the official affairs branch and the anomalous intervention branch.
then they added X, someone who is really secretive about his identity (even more than TimeLapse). He took the Lead of the Containment and Research branch, and the Anomalous Intervention branch became the Intervention Branch
Then Caelus Johnson died and it was a mess and his son Nathaniel Johnson (goes by N. Johnson because of TRAUMA surrounding his first name and his father) which ended as a good thing because he was an actually nice person and his father sucked and he still had basically the same ties if not more thanks to his fucked up upbrigging
Then Remus Altar (who goes by Ra because he has a superpower) joined them, became the Lead of the Research Branch
so basically the L4 are
Dawn - Intervention Branch
X - Containment Branch
N. Johnson - Political Branch
Ra - Research Branch
further notes on the timelapse foundation:
they have multiple public operation they secretly control:
Alpha Squad (basically the justice league of this world) and all the things related to it; the Alpha-affiliated hero list; Alphatech and other thing. Aube Dubois is the public leading figure. it's just Dawn's alter-ego
The Paranormal Bibliothecae - public association that colelcts paranormal stories, fictions, annecdotes and testimonies. over the course of anomalies being more and more of a public matter, they "associated" with the Alpha Squad to have a strike force and also became a sort of call center for supervillain-related problems. but it stays very esoteric because its part of the aesthetic
Gladiator Initiative/Ares Program - a publicly organized fighting sport where superheroes and other can battle to the "death" (they basically clone the heroes and have them mindcontrol the husks its complicated because theres like multiple anomalies used in the processus). The Ares Program is there to hope to reform supervillains and offer them a career as an athlete in the gladiator initiative
Espa Isles - an insulary country the foundation heavily helped create in hopes of recruiting the best of the best in term of researchers and scientist, also used as a way to do public programs, get some funds and have more influence in global politics. ended as a fiacso costing a lot of resources for it to not collapse too bad.
and ye thats it for now thats already too much lore sry 😔
