Announcing: The Language of Angels Foundation (TV) Fanzine!
I am so excited to announce that after eight months of work, The Language of Angels Foundation (TV) Fanzine is finally complete and available to you all!
Whether you are already a Foundation fan, or simply want to see some absolutely incredible science-fiction fanworks, click here to check out the zine! There are two versions available for download - a compressed PDF, and a higher resolution PDF for optimal digital viewing and/or printing. This zine is completely free to download, and I am intending to keep it available for as long as possible – there’s no time limit! I also recommend reading it two pages at a time on your PDF viewer of choice - it is formatted to look best in two-page spreads, like a physical magazine.
This zine contains:
50 pages of entirely new fanmade content;
10 visual artworks;
4 written works;
and 4 Capilli (multiple Capillus-es) scampering throughout the zine!
And finally, infinite thanks to the contributors who made this possible:
This was the art I drew for The Language of Angels fanzine! (Based off of John William Waterhouse's The Crystal Ball, because my brain sees everything as foundation-coded these days lol.) Go check out the zine if you haven't already!
This was my submission for the Language of Angels Foundation (TV) Fanzine made by the wonderful @david-lanndlord and many equally wonderful contributors. Check it out!
Announcing The Language of Angels - a Foundation (TV) Fanzine!
Who: Anyone 18+ who is passionate about the Foundation TV series on Apple TV!
I will be editing and moderating the zine, but I will also be looking for registrants who are willing to beta-read and otherwise assist with each other’s submissions, as well as a cover artist, so please indicate in the sign-up form if you would be open to doing that!
Personal disclaimer: this is my first time running a zine, but I have been heavily involved in online fan spaces for over a decade, have created plenty of fanart and fanfiction which you can find on my art tumblr and ao3, and I have many years of professional experience in graphic design and communications.
What: A free-to-download digital-only zine featuring fanworks relating to the first three seasons of Foundation. Please do not submit heavily Foundation book-reliant pieces - while some book references are fine, the focus of all submitted pieces should be on the show. Your submission could be about any aspect of the show - characters, worldbuilding, storytelling and themes, costume and set design, leitmotifs, historical/scientific/literary references, you name it! I will be accepting anything that can go into a PDF, such as:
Fanfiction
Fanart/fancomics
Meta essays/media criticism and analysis/philosophical writings
Visual mixed media projects (which are static and can be displayed as an image file - no GIFs, music or animations)
Moodboards/collages
Poetry
Recipes
Photography (cannot feature any humans who are not registered for this zine)
Cosplay photos (cannot feature any humans who are not registered for this zine)
Photos of crafts/fibre arts/sculptures/3D models/etc.
Sheet music
Don’t hesitate to let me know if you have a submission idea that doesn’t appear on that list, we can chat and try to figure out a way to incorporate it! Also, all submissions must be fully completed by the submission deadline, so please plan your time accordingly. If a submission is not finished by the deadline, it will not be included in the final zine. Submissions already posted publicly in their finished form will not be accepted (WIPs started before this zine’s launch, as well as completed but unpublished pieces, are fine). Please refrain from posting submissions anywhere else until one week after the release of the final version of the zine. Submissions must also be original, and created by YOU - generative AI and plagiarized submissions will be rejected. If you have sources, cite them!
Image submissions should all be at least 72 dpi, preferably higher in case anyone wants to print this zine out for personal use. I would advise that written submissions stay under 15 pages - if you have something longer or are concerned about this guideline, please reach out and we can discuss. I will be accepting submissions in English and French, as these are the languages I can read and therefore moderate content in. If anyone would be willing to help me moderate content in other languages (if that situation arises) please let me know. I do intend for this to be a primarily English zine, however.
This zine’s main section will be SFW with an NSFW add-on chapter - this is the reason why I am only accepting submissions from those over 18. I am open to accepting NSFW submissions containing sexual content, graphic violence and other mature themes, but I retain the right to reject submissions if I do not feel that they suit the tone and scope of the zine. I will also not tolerate any harassment or abuse towards myself or other contributors to the zine. Please reach out to me if you are unsure about your submission(s) in any way, as I am happy to discuss! I do not agree with the current trend of censorship of NSFW materials, and I am trying to walk a middle ground between accessibility and freedom of artistic expression in administering this project.
When: The submission deadline will be on February 28, 2026, in order to give people plenty of time to work on their pieces. Registration opens today, and will close one month beforehand, on January 31, 2026, to try and make sure everyone has time to finish their submissions. I will be posting periodic reminders + status updates here on Tumblr as well as on Discord and via email. After the submission due date, I will compile all submissions and begin formatting the zine, which may take time, but I will do it as quickly as I can :) More details about the final release date will be released after the submission deadline.
Where & How: If you want to submit something, fill out this registration form and I will email you a link to a Discord server where everyone involved in the zine can talk! Once you have finished your submission(s), please email the relevant file(s) to me at the email address I will use to contact you after registration. You must be comfortable with your piece(s) being shared online and hosted long-term in the final version of the zine - however, there will NOT be any money or profits involved in any part of this zine, so commercialization concerns should not be an issue.
To get in touch with me, feel free to send me an ask or a DM here on tumblr anytime! If you have registered for the zine, you can also email me or message me on Discord. You can also find all posts relating to this zine by searching #tLoAzine on my tumblr page.
Why: To celebrate this amazing show and its small but mighty fanbase, of course!
Thanks for reading, and happy creating! I can’t wait to see what we can all make together :D
*Note: the art of Demerzel featured in the zine announcement poster above is my original artwork, which you can see posted on my art account korekyane.
Featuring a short sample of a story that will be included in The Language of Angels Foundation (TV) fanzine, today we're shining the contributor spotlight on @trantor-hr-department! You’ll be able to read their full piece in the zine once it comes out later in the spring!
Contributor sign-ups have now closed, but I would like to use this opportunity to remind contributors that the submission deadline (February 28th) is rapidly approaching! Happy creating!
Work is well underway on The Language of Angels Foundation (TV) fanzine, and with contributor registration closing in a month and a half (January 31, 2026) and the submission deadline two and a half months away (February 28, 2026), it’s a great time for some sneak peeks at what will be in the zine!
Our first contributor spotlight is shining on Lilas (@mugenmegami), who has submitted an amazing art piece featuring Bayta Mallow! That’s just a detail of the full piece above – the entire artwork will be in the final zine. We can’t wait to show you all everything we’ve been working on over the last few months!
If you are interested in signing up and haven’t yet, ✨REGISTRATION IS STILL OPEN! ✨Just fill out this Google form to register!
