i’m sobbing
IS THAT TABLE THIS TABLE? THIS IS GONNA HAPPEN IN JOEL’S HOUSE AND NOT ELLIE’S SHED?
this is actually so much worse because, in the game after their big fight, that’s the table that joel sits at by himself and watches ellie’s shed. like that’s so personal to joel now. he’s gonna sing to her here, in his home…
LIKE NOW THE GHOST OF ELLIE IS GONNA BE THERE WHEN HE’S BY HIMSELF. I’M 😭.
New TLOU season 2 trailer and release date just dropped!
WELP, I am in shambles now. This is a magnificent trailer. I have only one complaint, but I won't voice it because it's a spoiler.
BUT, I simply cannot wait to see this and experience the excitement and have the deep dive discourses all over again like I did during season 1.
Pedro...my god, Pedro is just going to present a masterclass in acting. Bella is going to be next-level. The nuance of the continued story is going to be so amazing to see played out in live action.
Come talk to me about it, pleaaaaaase 🤪 I can't be the only one exhilarated after seeing this trailer.
Thoughts on the official trailer for “HBO’s The Last of Us”:
1) Uh…“Take on Me” is certainly an interesting song choice. Didn’t really like the way it was used in the trailer. And slowing it down didn’t make it feel any less silly. Also, that’s a love song, if you’re going to choose a pop song for your trailer, why not go with one about fathers and daughters? Something like Pearl Jam’s “Daughter”.
2) I’m more convinced that the show will take the “Uncharted” approach to the source material, which is also the “Walking Dead” approach. The game is still the foundation of the series, but the series definitely feels like a partial reimagining of the story.
3) The casting really makes a HUGE difference in how the story is coming off. In the game, you get the feeling that Joel could be Ellie’s dad since they look like they can be related. In the show, it’s pretty obvious that Joel isn’t Ellie’s dad, creating more of a divide. That said, I do like that divide since it emphasizes that Joel is some dude who grew to care about Ellie. Sarah was his true daughter, Ellie is the girl he adopted.
4) The overall show at least looks like the game. Still up in the air about the execution, but the trailer does look good at least.
5) Since there are only 10 episodes in this season, I’m assuming that the first two episodes will be Tess, episode 3 is Bill, episodes 4-5 are Henry and Sam, episode 6 is reconnecting with Tommy, episode 7 is when Joel gets injured, episodes 8-9 are David and Riley Abel, and episode 10 is the hospital massacre.
In all my hype for the Last of Us series, I forgot how much seeing Sarah live action is going to kill me
That clicking sound is frightening as fuck. And I don't play the game.
