Safira and Apolline are made from the same mold, yet look so different. Both are lovely in their own ways. 

It’s crazy how dolls, even those who are supposed to be identical (like all FOUR of my Samanthas) can look so dissimilar. Of course, that’s mostly how I end up with so many original characters. (Like Samantha, Florrie, Ellie and Ianthe.)

I’m hoping to get everyone dressed in their own period/character outfits, do an introduction for each, and get a group picture before the apocalypse.

I did it. I found my grail doll. AND BOUGHT IT!!!!! 

I got a bonus at work, and I finally found a TM 62, new in the box. I’m so excited; they are incredibly hard to find, even harder than Cecile or JLY 4. I have only found 3 total listings for sale at all. 

This isn’t my doll, just an image from the AG wiki, but look at that face! And TM 62 and 26 are the only ones with that eye color. You can’t even get it in the CYO generator. 

Now I have to come up with a name and a backstory...(which may be one of my favorite parts)

Look who’s here!!

Safira finally arrived today!

She’s beautiful, but she got shipped with nothing tying her upper body to the box, so she has marks on her nose and cheek I need to buff out. She’s even got pierced ears! (I don’t know if they came like that by default, I assumed not, so it was a nice surprise.)

Now, other than a little paint, partially to protect from UV damage, she’s ready to join my other dolls. Once I’ve got everything done, I’ll make an introductory post. But I had to share my excitement. :D

A work in progress

Safira may be the most photogenic doll I have ever owned.

These are different iterations I’ve gone through trying to find the right look for Safira’s face. I keep them up in PowerPoint as a collage, so I can see what I like best compared to other looks I’ve tried. I’ve primarily been experimenting with eyebrows and freckles. 

The images on the far left are the first and last so far. The white headwrap is to protect the hair from the primer/sealer, it just gets pushed back while I’m painting.
