i guess let’s beginning with a summary of the beginning of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Demigods: The Lightning Thief
Baron Draxum, demigod son of Hecate, was cursed by the gods and transformed into a monster after he was caught stealing ichor from them while they were sleeping, intending to use it for his experiments. He went into hiding and continued his experiments.
After years in isolation, Kronos started speaking to him in his dreams, getting him on his side and promising him power over the gods that wronged him. Kronos told Draxum to create strong warriors that would help lead his army. So Draxum kidnapped the greatest mortal warrior of that time, action star Lou Jitsu, and combined his DNA with the stolen ichor of four different gods. Then he injected that mixture into four turtles, and exposed them to an ooze that would mutate them into sentient, intelligent, humanoid creatures.
But Lou Jitsu escaped, taking the newly mutated turtles with him and destroying Draxum’s laboratory. Draxum was able to hit Lou Jitsu with a spell as he fled, one that turned the action star into a rat-man. Without more ichor, Draxum instead turned to adapting his ooze so that it would turn mortals into monsters that could be recruited into Kronos’ army.
13 years later, Raph, Leo, Donnie, and Mikey have spent their lives growing up in the sewers of New York City, unaware of their half-god DNA. One night, while hanging out above ground with their human friend April (who has an uncanny knack for noticing the strange), the boys are attacked by a monster. They take a stand, but their limited training isn’t enough, so they flee back to their lair. When they tell Splinter what they saw, he tells them they must leave now. He leads the four brothers to a camp his grandfather had told him about that would be safe the boys, but right as they reach it, the monster catches up with them. When Splinter is seemingly killed by the creature the boys, fueled by rage and grief, manage to kill the monster before promptly passing out.
They wake to find themselves in the camp. There they discover that they are demigods, and begin training with the other campers. Before long, Raph, Donnie, and Leo are claimed by their godly parents. And when Raph gets a quest that will journey into the Underworld, he brings his brothers with him to get their dad back.
