so onedrive just reminded me it's mr.p's birthday(?) lmao. thankfully for once i'm not one day late. happy birth dog you ruined my taste in media.
ANYWAYS i don't have much of anything to post but i do have this recent(ish) doodle. for someone who's in the mpas fandom i sure don't draw sherman often oops. i am just trash at drawing children. he is a favourite though he's so silly bless him
i guess i'll take this as an opportunity to ramble about mr.p for a bit cause where else am i going to mention this stuff hahaaaa (under the cut vvv)
idk if i'm the only one here with this sort of opinion on media in general, but you ever have this show/movie/book/whatever where you find the characters far more interesting than what the plot revolves around? that's me with mr.p. like, the time travelling stuff is fun and all and got me to enjoy history when i was little...
...but you're telling me there's this single father who's the only one of his kind in a world that is opposed to him by principle due to who he is and cannot change? who only gets acceptance due to his genius and talents and not who he is as a person (well, dog)? and he's fighting to keep custody of his son who taught him that (familial) love is far more important than his countless achievements? damn dude sign me up for that story.
i remember when i was watching tmpass what interested me more was the stuff outside of the time travel stories. cause that's where you got to learn more about the characters. ...although i still feel that tmpass screwed up mr.p as a character... besides him falling in love with a british, pun-making secret agent that shit is very accurate--
also catch me reading too deep into media again but mr.p reads to me as someone who is naturally extroverted but is forced to be introverted? he is a person-pleaser through and through. like, despite his faults and his inexperience with raising a child he really was trying his best (in the film at least. tmpass... hm) to give sherman the best. also it seems like his only proper friends are from his time travelling. but even then, if classic is canon in the film... mr.p altered the wabac machine in the classic for sherman's benefit to 1) allow sherman to understand the historical figures and 2) have the historical figures be nice to sherman. ...i gotta feeling that 2nd adjustment wasn't just for sherman but HEY THAT'S JUST A THEORY--
and yet this franchise is a comedy. (i got similar feelings for dm but at least in dm's case he was meant to be in a more serious show, but the creators didn't have any plot ideas and thus changed to a comedy. but this is mr.p's post and i need to stop lol)
hahaha dog adopting boy?? how absurd! how bizarre!
hhhhh i swear in old concept art for the film that the story was going to be more character focused. might be wrong here but from what i remember there was a concept art of sherman getting adopted by other foster parents. like, the story is about mr.p fucking up big time and going back in time to try and solve things? idk, just my take but oh nooo there's no funny history hijinks and that's what's mpas is all about!! but then again i don't want mpas to get riverdale treatment. unless it's so edgy that it comes back around to being entertaining. then maybe.
