CS Tuesday Night Fic Rec
I’ve decided that Tuesday nights, I’ll be recommending a fic (or two, or three!) that I stumbled upon, enjoyed, and thought deserved some extra attention. <3 So for tooonight:
Can I Be Close to You? by @cutieodonoghue:
“Stubborn Princess Emma and extremely reluctant lieutentant/temporary guard Killian are stuck together during a storm. Lieutenant Duckling.” (Rated K+)
I actually didn’t know this was a Megan fic until I did a little digging into the author name on ff.net. Needless to say, I was not surprised in the least! This Lieutenant Duckling fic is the full package. The dialogue is witty, real, and clever. It both tugs a smile at your lips and a good feeling in your heart! Just enough description and wonderful goodies to keep you reading until the very last word.
Ignorance and Pain by ifonlycriedthewoodpecker on A03
“Emma hears Killian on his ship while exploring the docks. In the depths of the Jolly, he's dealing with ghosts from his past and present. She feels it's her job to help. (3a canon divergence.)” (Rated GA)
Like Killian’s phantom pains, this makes you hurt in places you didn’t know you had! Emma channels her inner caregiver when she finds Killian hurting alone. The tension between the two, mixed with them both fighting their own inner demons makes for a really complex conflict, but ever the more sweet as they work through it. It also shows a missing scene of the blossoming friendship and foundation of trust between Killian and Emma.
