Still don't know what to name them. Yapping under the cut

THEY/THEM VULCAN WHO NEVER EXPERIENCED THE PON FARR AND LIVED DETACHED FROM VULCAN CULTURE SAVE ME

Anyway. They are an engineering lieutenant that specializes in Exo-mechanics (alien spacecraft / engineering)

Because they don't really have dysphoria and being nonbinary is just a comfortable logical conclusion idk if I want to give them a masculine birth name and call it a day or give them one that combines feminine and masculine Vulcan naming conventions... The issue with the second option is. I don't think?? They'd change their name??? I just don't think they'd bother. They'd find it illogical to bother when most Starfleet people don't register it as particularly masculine nor do they feel insecure about it themself. I think I'll do something masculine. I love them a lot. EEEEEE

Kiki Bradley or otherwise known as Kii'Katar s'Trigg-Bradley

her mother, Velket smuggled other romulans out of the empire until she was compromised and had to go into hiding. there she met Nyra, a human-betazed starfleet officer that specalized in disaster support. unaware of her new family in federation space, Velket is taken back to the empire to be tried for espionage.

for a long time after this, Kiki could not connect with her father. she would purposfully start fights with him, trying her best to get a rise out of him. oddly enough she would heed his warnings, but not without making it miserable. with the rest of the colony she was unassuming, helping out when possible- but it was more to get away from Nyra than any other reason.

after a particularly bad spat she ran away on a whim. convenient for her cover, a starfleet program scores below average was just the place to be. with a substandard alien-integration program left much to be desired on integrating, but her classmates seemed to love the human to show past the " vulcan " in her.

she graduates the security program with enough honors to land a spot on the enterprise, its really just a small job on a big ship, but slowly Kiki begins biting off more than she can chew. it only takes a few months before her status as a Romulan is revealed and her future is litigated.

data, the one who ratted her out, is also the one to defend her rights. as his sentience and free will has been recently contested- he believes hes "gained a new perspective" and helps to convince the jury to protect Kiki's autonomy as an indivitual.

So I'm putting my favorite oc into TNG and nobody can stop me.

Cheyanne "Shy" Wyatt is involved in the xeno anthropological department aboard the Enterprise and she's...a strange case. She gets along with most beings she encounters, and they tend to enjoy her company...but she's sort of a nervous wreck and a bit of a doormat. She's quiet and more than a little creepy, which makes sense because she studies the cultures surrounding death and dying on other worlds. She's the kind of person who sweetly says the most fucked up things you've ever heard like they're nothing.

Shy is autistic as all heck and a being of pure chaos when you get to know her, but nobody expects it because she's so debilitatingly timid.
