Kay, so I was bored and made a possible scenario for people confused by the family bible Hayley finds in 1x07. I kind of think the werewolves might have matriarchal tendencies, but I didn’t mess with that in this. I just used the general assumption that women take their husband’s surnames.
K. So here goes.
**WHEN I WROTE CRAIG I MEANT CYRUS**
So here’s the story I made up in my head (I don’t really believe it for aforementioned matriarchal reasons, but it’s a possible scenario if you want one)
The Schafer siblings are born, and their parents write their names in the bible. Nicole grows up and marries into the Strauss family. She writes the names of her nieces and nephews in the bible (Brian, William, Landon, and Kimberly) as well as the name of her son (James). *like I wrote, Melinda could have been the one to do this, but it doesn’t really matter either way, so I just chose Nicole*
James writes the names of his children Brooke and Murray.
Brooke grows up and marries into the Labonairs. This is where the tree gets messed up. She asks her hubby when some of his family members were born (Cyrus, Victoria, possibly others - and these could be siblings of her Labonair husband as well, I suppose, but then she definitely would have put his name as well, and that did not happen) and writes those down in her family bible, even though they aren’t blood-related to her. Then she writes the names of her children.
every time i watch the scene where Hayley and Elijah look at the bible and she's like 'That's the day that I was born' I can't HELP but think Elijah's standing there like 'she was born in 1991 she is an ACTUAL INFANT Jesus Christ I'm ancient'
