Question, in your fanfic the other mountain (and in other works that include qhj) does qhj care for lxc and lwj? Because with his the other mountain characterization I can't see him caring for lwj due to lwj being quiet similar to his uncle. While with lxc i can only see him caring for lxc as a extension of himself and not really viewing lxc as his own person. (Also Loving your fic!)

Hmmm, with The Other Mountain, I think the question is answered within the fic, so I won't get into it for fear of inadvertently spoiling something - though if by the end you still have questions, please do ask again! I'd be happy to revisit the more general question then as well :D

The end of the year hustle and bustle makes updating or writing for the sake of self indulgent work really hard. So I’m gonna post ideas I’ve had to maybe revisit when I have more time. 

So I was thinking about airport scenes and McDanno, as one does. Earlier seasons but post DADT. They’ve been dating or “dating”(Danny spends every night he doesn’t have Grace with Steve. The days he does have her, Steve’s still there but they tone it down but it’s not hard cos Danno loves being a dad and Steve kinda always gets a high at being part of a healthy and loving family that he’s included in) even while dadt was in effect and just kept it as unconfirmed as possible(they were fooling no one!)

Danny has to go back to Jersey for a court case and they’re at the airport and both of them yearning to kiss the other goodbye and be affectionate but resist. Years of fearing losing everything for not being straight isn’t going to disappear overnight, and even if Danny’s not military, he’s witness how old fashioned thining law enforcement establishments can be. Even though they know the danger they used to know isn’t so ‘knife pressed at the throat’ anymore...the sense of ‘danger’ of being caught is still strong in each of them. So there’s longing, they at least dare a hug. Hugs are okay...and they risk it lingering on. 

In this verse, however, they gave into their sexual tension. Steve’s place is basically their place. Even when Danny had Grace, Steve wasn’t on his own like this since he came to the island. He was either at Danny’s place at 6 in the morning busing himself with cooking or cleaning, he spends time with Danny and Grace and shows them his islands, hoping they fall more and more in love with it and consider it more home than Jersey. But now Danny’s all the way across the country, hours difference in time zones, busy with work and old friends and relatives....and wow he and Danny really did something sexual multiple times a day every day and now it’s just him and his hand? That’s not the same and he’s now grumpy at work, everything’s kinda setting him off and it’s a mixture of frustrations and missing Danny. 

During one of his calls with Danny, just hearing Danny’s voice is enough to get him hard,and Danny’s a damn good detective and catches on. He teases the truth out of Steve, and it’s a stroke to the ego and also makes him feel both needed and wanted. He helps Steve through the phone ;) 

Their longing was shy of a full week but it was some of the most intense feeling they’ve both had. When they reunite once more, fear be damned, Steve pulls Danny in for a tight embrace first. He needs to catch scent of his Danno. When they pull apart before Danny could utter a single word, Steve’s kissing him. Danny’s kissing him right back. One of the few times Danny doesn’t complain(much) about Steve’s driving habits and they make up for lost time and make sure Steve’s not the grumpy one at work anymore...that’s Danny’s stchitck xD

Dullahan Bismuth? I don't know how many people know what a dullahan is but it's basically a spook knight who's head is detached from their body, but they just casually carry it around. Also there's usually green fire coming from the severed neck.

I’ve gotten another ask about this before and I like the idea! But I’ll probably wait til I know more about them before making a post. But I will revisit this when I do!
