hey i wanted to send a message just thanking you for introducing me to toše seeing ppls love for an artist is quite a motivator to listen to them my dad brought me up with lots of italian songs some greek ones maybe a turkish one here and an arabic one there, but he didn't remember any yougoslavian song names that he had heard on the radio, so it's been nice to learn how much some songs mean to neighbor countries, and have my dad like them too (also i'm not going to lie i was so surprised that toše had performed angel si ti in my country albania, he seemed very sweet, must've been a real gem)
Hii nonny!!
First of all, sorry for taking a while to respond, I promise I'm not an asshole I was just busy out of my mind and couldn't give this the attention it deserves. Hope you see it anyway.
It made me so happy and smiley to receive this ask! I'm glad just a few posts I shared helped introduce you to Toše (and your dad I guess haha). Big thanks to Bojan as well for being a fan, talking about Toše and singing his songs because that's what made us talk about him in these fandom spaces
I was only 8 when Toše died, but I remember the shock and sadness, how loved and famous he was and how both before and after at every school trip or just while hanging out after class we blasted Ledena like it was our anthem 🥺 He also received awards here that were otherwise always reserved for Croatian artists, which goes to show the kind of respect he enjoyed. And yes, everyone always talked about how sweet and kind he was!
The fact that so many people still remember him and listen to his music almost 18 years later, and that so many of those are kids born after he died, says everything about his greatness ❤️
P. S. If you wanna send some of those Turkish and Arabic songs my way please do, they're my guilty pleasure!
