I saw Clarisse and Annabeth and now I'm curious!
It’s always been competitive between the two. Annabeth, while being two years younger then Clarisse, Annabeth has always set that off in the Child of Ares. Maybe it’s a clash of the different ways of going about war. Who knows, but it built and anything Annabeth can do, Clarisse will try and do better; especially Capture the Flag, or anything the is already a competition already.
I think it annoys Annabeth that Clarisse knows three languages (french, english & greek), and drove Annabeth to pick up Morse code, but if you don’t think Clarisse learnt that to annoy Annabeth you’re wrong. Clarisse totally did and started ‘randomly’ tapping her fingers near Annabeth with taunts to her. Clarisse, though isn’t as good as Morse Code as Annabeth, so the Wisdom’s daughter has the upper hand in this one.
Clarisse, while having always seen Annabeth as competition would never wish ill on her, because if she needed her on her side, she would take her onto her side. Clarisse wouldn’t hesitate, or she would because she knows their styles of going about things clash, that and if she can do it alone - she prefers it. Clarisse knows Annabeth is an amazing fighter, you have to be to be using a knife - but Clarisse isn’t one to praise, so it comes out as ‘ yeah, she’s good, but i can do better ‘.
When it comes to talking about her time in the Labyrinth, Clarisse would, reluctantly go to Annabeth about it (maybe Percy), because she doesn’t want to burden Chris with it. She goes to her, because Annabeth would understand and she knows Annabeth wouldn’t make fun of her for it - because deep down she is afraid that her showing weakness from her time is well, weakness.
IF and that is a big if, Clarisse were to get married, she would ask Annabeth to be a bridesmaid, and she would probably be the only one. Silena being an honorary one (and the honorary Maid of Honour, even if she can’t be there), and would be the one, Clarisse would trust completely to organise it.
