I don’t have much on this one but I got this idea on the train around the time I started this blog and I would still like to flesh it out a little more. Here’s what I have: It’s a short scene where Fowler informs Gavin he is going to be partnered up with Nines (because how else should a Reed900 story start?)

F: “Relax, man, it isn’t deviant. Connor said it reset itself after going deviant.“ G: “You cant partner me up with someone! You know I work best alone and no one stays with me for more than one case. I am simply not a person for company.“ F: “I know Gavin. I would never think of partnering you up with anything remotely human. This is why I am giving you an android. You need a partner for this unfortunately and I will give you one causing minimal problems with you or the other officers out there actually doing their jobs.“ 

Nines is an android that couldn’t cope with being deviant after being forcefully deviated so he reset himself. He still has all memories about his prior state, but he doesn’t want these overwhelming emotions and no mission to guide him. He would much rather follow his orders instead of being thrown in the deep end.

But during his work with Gavin he is so frustrated about being used as a coffee dispenser and punching bag that this is the first time he reconsiders breaking through that wall. So one day Nines has enough and deviates, screaming all his pent up anger and frustration at this human because he has no other idea how to handle it. Afterwards the helplessness hits again though and he has a breakdown. Gavin thinking he was such an asshole he forced an android to deviate feels kinda bad about it and tries to apologise (as good as asshole!Gavin can do that).

He is actually surprised as Nines decides to stay with him and explains to him that different to other androids he has no programming to guide him, no purpose at all. And he still wants those orders. But if he was treated as a deviant no one would allow anyone to order him around, so he pleads Gavin to keep it a secret. Gavin doesn’t even remotely understand that but agrees to it on impulse.

Throughout their continued work they warm up to another, Gavin ordering him around still, but with a bit more concern about the android. That way Nines can slowly adapt to freedom and Gavin realises how he had treated Nines before.

Yeah, this would still need an overarching story, I’m thinking of some kind of case fic that investigates murder or disappearences of androids that are reset against their will, just to get that little angst in the end. Because Nines reset himself, so he is invulnerable should they get to the criminal. He can’t loose a deviancy he doesn’t have. And then in the end he actually treasures it but can’t tell anyone he is a deviant without making Gavin pay for his behaviour towards him during the last months. Something like that.

how do you pick your colors? :0 ur art is always very pretty and the way you color is a huge standout and part of that, and ive been curious how u do it!

Fun fact I've been trying to demonstrate how I color by screensharing on my server and my friends still cannot figure out how I do it udldbdkd

Well there are some things I noticed I do, which are:

✨Basically, always picking saturated colours ✨

You'll rarely see me use a colour with low saturation/low brightness.

When I wanna place the shadows, I'll actually shift the hue, keep the saturation up and adjust the brightness. For skin color I love using a more saturated orange shifting to pink or even purple!

Color composition wise, my go to is gradient of one color + a pop of it's complementary colour. Just. Using complementary colours in general

I love your usual light blue and orange, Prussian blue and crimson, purple and yellow...ect

Errr if i have time I'll make a tutorial but ngl I'll have to understand MYSELF how I color so.
