Personally, I don't understand how tobacco companies are even able to publish findings in scientific journals as it should be common knowledge by now that smoking has detrimental effects on health, especially after prolonged use. I do not limit this to only tobacco companies however, this happens with all companies with commercial backbones. Publishing for tobacco companies only hurts the integrity and authority of scientific publication in my opinion. This is another example of how money often gets in the way of scientific progress and honesty.
