So... I’m not taking Peri to the apartment when I move. The kids love her a lot and she’s very tolerant of them. The oldest has taken to reading to her. He especially likes reading her Harry Potter (bless his little heart) because he thinks she likes magic. They are building her a place in the garage (a place to climb, a scratching area, bowls for food and water, an area to nest and sleep in) and have even gotten her several toys. She’s a little less than a year old so she’s still very young and she has a nice place to live. That’s why I can’t take her. There are tons of sweet, older cats out there in shelters waiting for someone to come take them home. I would rather give a home to an older cat (around 5years+) than take home a young kitty who basically already has a home. Young cats and kittens are the cats who get adopted the easiest, while older cats have a harder time. I just want a little somebody who can keep me company when Taylor isn’t home so the age doesn’t really matter to me. I’ve currently got my eye on an 8 year old tabby who was recently surrendered to a shelter. I’m planning on taking Taylor and Kim with me to go looking since we will all eventually be living with the cat. Anywho, there’s that. Peri is staying here and I will be on the lookout for older cats in need of homes.
