Our Superman last night was "Apokolips...Now!" and seemed to have a canon LESB (?)
It was also dedicated to Jack Kirby, just like the TMNT 2003 episode"The King"

Superman Annual #2 (1988) by John Byrne
I know it's just crumbs but those hospital scenes in "Apokolips... Now!" between Maggie and her gf holding hands and being soft with each other caught me so off guard.
I knew Maggie was gay in the comics but I never expected to see it portrayed in a 90s cartoon so it hit me really hard in the feels.
I know it's not the best representation out there especially by today's standards, but I loved how casual and sweet it was and it meant a lot to see.
“Superman! Man, am I glad to see you in one piece!”
Superman (1987) #9
Trans Woman Maggie Sawyer
Her earliest memories are sitting in her abuela’s lap listening to the stories written just for her and her sister.
(her abuela was a writer, you see - published, even - but these, these were just for them)
Margarita, one of their special characters, was a princess who was also a knight. She was often mistaken for a man when she was in her armor.
And Maggie, five years old, with close cropped hair and a football themed bedroom, knew that was her. A princess who was also a knight, but was always mistaken for a boy.
Based on this small thing I wrote.

<3 VINTAGE LESBIAN ADORABLE FEELS GOODNESS <3
Awesome comics facts: Maggie Sawyer and her girlfriend Toby Raynes were one of the earliest canon lesbian couples in comics!
And were lovely as frick together and oh my gosh this scene is SO CUTE and so good just look at Toby there, being there for her girlfriend when she needs her most of all
This is like..basically the ONE good thing John Byrne did as a writer right here, giving the world this beautiful sapphic goodness <3
DC
I may consider forgiving you for Kate and Maggie’s break up if
With Maggie back in Metropolis now and in the supporting cast of the Superwoman ongoing book
You have her and Toby get back together as girlfriends because they were lovely together
And Maggie deserves a loving girlfriend in her life who is there for her and loves her
<3 Give this awesome and amazing butch some happiness and lady love with a girlfriend DC or I will hide one of your shoes from every pair of shoes you own and you will have no choice but to either go out with mis-matched shoes or else purchase a whole new pair just for the sake of one shoe <3
