#toby's sweater

Toby's sweater continues apace. It turns out I mathed wrong and need 9 squares as the base row rather than 7. As you can see, the project passes an invisible point past which it's no longer a wiggly mess, but suddenly an actual 'thing'. Also, this has All The Ends. Yikes. I might just tie them in double knots and cut them. I wouldn't do this if it were a human project, but since it's going to be worn by a bear, it'll be okay.

I'm going back a ways here but here's my question: When Ali tells the story about the night she died/disappeared, she's leaving many things out or they just don't make sense. Toby said he gave Ali his jacket because she was cold and we don't see Toby in Ali's story, just that he shows up. So, yes, he gave her the jacket lets say. But then she goes to meet up with Ian, the jacket still on and tells the liars she went right back to the barn. She does not have the jacket on! So where did it go

I AM SOOO GLAD YOU ASK because I had sorta momentarily forgotten about Toby’s sweater and I needed reminding. it is really important BECAUSE:

Spencer’s name bracelet had fibers from that jacket in it!!! (they were found when the police raided her room)

The video with Ian shows Alison’s bare arm hitting the dirt. But Spencer and Emily’s flashbacks show an her arm hitting the dirt but it is covered by the sleeve.

There was blood on it matching the body that was buried under the gazebo

It somehow found it’s way back into Toby’s possesion.

Now if we assume Toby and Alison are at least telling some of the truth then we know: Alison got it from Toby cause she was cold. Then she wore it when she when she got in the car with Ezra. Then she wore it in the videos with Ian at the kissing rock

But we don’t know when it came into contact with Spencer’s bracelet or How the victim’s blood got on it or how it got back to Toby.

My theories:

Alison was wearing it when she argued with Spencer (and the flashbacks are a little off due to different characters memories and perceptions) and that is how some fibers became tangled in Spencers bracelet. Then Spencer and Emily witnessed Alison hurt the other girl and that explains their flashbacks and how the blood got on it. And then Alison lost or got rid of the jacket. Similar to how they destroyed Emily’s clothes in 3x01 (“that night” in 3x01 was a parallel episode to “that night” from 1x01) and then -A put in back in Toby’s room to frame him.

OR

Alison gave it to the other girl, probably along with yellow top and other clothes. Then Spencer and Emily had something to do with hurting that girl. This is when the fibers get caught in the bracelet and the blood gets on it. Then Alison helps them by taking the jacket and keeping it safe until it is needed to frame Toby for the murder. Meaning Alison has being helping and protecting the girls this whole time.

I can think of like tons more plausible theories. please let me know if this spurs on any for you. I think the sweater/jacket is a big key to figuring out the truth about WTF happened that night.

What Happened To Toby's Sweater That Night??

After watching the finale, we still don't know what Ali did with Toby's sweater that night.  She was wearing it at the kissing rock, but not when she arrived back at the barn.  In season 1, that sweater was found in Toby's closet, perhaps planted unless Toby's hiding something.  It was found with blood stains, but the police later threw it out due to corruption of blood evidence.  There were also fibers of this sweater found on Spencer's bracelet which is odd being that Spencer never saw Ali in the sweater that night.
