HEAD CANON FOR ARDYN
So my friend and I have made it a head canon that Ardyn has a pet tarantula that shifts from hiding in his hat to his sleeves and other room areas in his jacket (and it gives even more legitimate reason for the chocobros to hate him because Prompto and Noct HATE bugs 😎). But guess what? The tarantula never has an official name. It's whatever Ardyn comes up with on the fly for each molt it goes through because that's just how he rolls. You can just see him tossing away the molt whispering "Goodbye Derek. Hello dear Garret~." Or when someone asks his name and he forgets, it's just whatever rolls of the tongue the fastest. Imagine him looking Noct dead in the eyes as the prince gives a disgusted look at the spider and telling him it's name is "Toctis" with the most casual sly grin ever. "I named it after you dear prince. I'd think you'd be honored to be named after such a beautiful creature."
