“Matthew Mcconaughey” by Todd Carey & Shwayze
American singer-songwriter Todd Carey teams up with the self-proclaimed “King Of Summer” rapper Shwayze to give a collaboration that is better than just “alright, alright, alright.”
Playing off the actor Matthew Mcconnaughey’s famous - and first on-camera - line of “alright, alright alright” the singer and rapper seamlessly weave the phrase into a catchy feel-good jam about love. Covered in bliss Carey sings out, “I like the way / the way you love me…the way it feels like alright alright alright alright.” The Malibu rapper joins the bridge to bring the summer vibes front and center as he sings about “smoking out of seashells” before “leaving all our retail” on “the sea floor.”
The actor also makes a cameo on the track as audio from an interview finds Mcconnaughey recalling his famous one-liner. Although just a feature, the “King of Summer” continues his reign on Todd Carey’s Feel Good album that just released its deluxe edition this month which includes four new songs - two alternative version and new originals with features from Emma Oliver and Sara Bareilles.
