Capture that Raw Energy

Hello! As mentioned in my previous post, I am going to share the other designs that I've created for Todd. I am super excited to talk about this because I find it interesting that the design both contains explicit and abstract (sort of!) elements that are of course, inspired by Todd.

For my hairstyle and only accessory, I went for retro to kind of relate to the vintage vibe brought by the polaroid camera in the design. Yes, there's a polaroid camera on that shirt.

Okay! So here's a close up shot of the shirt to help me explain. The string of texts on the left part says "everlasting memories" while the one on the other part says "capture that raw energy". The latter are words that I still remember Todd saying (in one of his videos where he talks about his craft) and up to this day it still continues to guide me in taking photos. I also remember asking him to explain this notion further this during his meet and greet here in Manila and as far as I can recall the most important part of his response is that it is to encapsulate the dynamism and life of the shoot. Meanwhile, for the "everlasting memories" part, well... that only came from me. Haha! Seriously though, to me photography is about documenting memories that should be treasured forever and it feels great to be inspired by Todd who shares his passion in the field to a lot of people.

I wanted to depict a camera strap out of the texts I have just talked about. Now, where is this strap attached to in the design? To the camera of course! The lower part of the design is actually a polaroid camera (tilted sideways) with a film that just came out of it. Okay, I hope everyone realizes this as well: I have purposely made it in such a way that it would spell "Todd". The camera actually contains the characters "T" and "O" (yea, I guess that's a little obvious). The film, on the other hand, has both of the "D"s: the first one is formed by the border of the film itself but it should be noted that I extended the upper right corner so that it would show the lowercase "d". The uppercase D can be seen with the combination of the border of the film and the arc formed by the connected circles on it.

Wore this pair with this outfit to go with the bright print on my tee. Originally, its shoelaces are white but I replaced it with black ones to match the base color of my shirt.

Todd's Army

Hello! Like, wow, it's already 2015 and in the next three months I'm gonna turn a year older again. I've committed myself to a couple of important resolutions since the first day of the year and it feels really good to live each day growing to be a better person.

I am totally dedicating my first outfit post for the year to the best fashion photographer in the world who happens to inspire me greatly ever since I started watching him on Asia's Next Top Model Cycle 1 about three years ago. He's Todd Anthony Tyler and I don't know but it's just super magical, like, I feel so happy writing this post. I'm pretty sure every other fan out there would feel the same. Right before I returned to work after more than two weeks of vacation for the holidays I created four tee designs for Todd. The one I'm wearing in this post is the first out of the bunch. I'll be blogging about the other three designs soon so I hope you'll watch out for that!

T for Todd! I know Todd likes camo (and so do I!) so for the front design I went for urban style by incorporating camo print in the varsity typeface for the letter T. As for the base color of the shirt, I chose white because it's comfortable to wear especially when you're in action - taking pictures or going out for a run!

#Todd'sArmy: I am super proud to be one of them! Todd's Army is one of the amazing ways you can refer to Todd's fans. I also had this text placed at the back of the first shirt I have given to Todd during his Meet and Greet here in Manila back in 2013. Oh the memories~
