But a sister-in-law would imply Nero has a brother which she married and became sister-in-law
It could be one of his wife’s younger sisters who took the Augustus name for some reason (I’m inclined to believe that Nero would only allow such a thing for the family of his second wife, not third, but it could be either I guess)? Maybe for social climbing? She became a ward of her older sister because her parents couldn’t take care of her?
Considering the Sister’s children are young, we can assume she’s significantly younger than Nero, and there is probably a significant age gap between the Unnamed Sister and the Unnamed Wife.
If Nero is 90-ish during Golden Son, she probably can’t be his biological sister. Nero was seven when the Augustans were all killed, and I really hope that an 70-ish year old women isn’t having kids, even if technology and Gold genes are super advanced and stuff. That just seems cruel.
