Hello everyone TOEFL has introduced a new writing task format, which will be implemented in both the TOEFL iBT and the TOEFL iBT Home Edition starting July 26th. This new task is designed to replace the traditional independent writing task. Test-takers will encounter a scenario resembling a discussion board on a university website in this revised format. Within this scenario, they will find a question posed by a professor, along with two student responses. The task is to read all the provided content and compose a response carefully. Test-takers will be allotted ten minutes for this task, during which a word counter will be visible on the screen to monitor their progress. The guidance from ETS is that responses should consist of "at least" 100 words. Importantly, throughout this process, the questions and answers will remain visible on the screen to aid in crafting a well-considered response
