Whenever he meets his eyes and sees the smile on his face, there’s a feeling that burns in the pit of his stomach – a feeling with a name that rolls off the tip of his tongue. He’s so undeserving of someone trying to be kind to him after the atrocities he’s done: crushed two lives under the heel of his shoe and for what? His selfishness and his short temper, his hesitance that put the X on Peko’s back to mark her for execution. And yet, why does Hinata try to trust him? To try giving him a second chance? It doesn’t make any sense. 

But with this trust, he creates a new sense of hopefulness: a desire to chance from the little boy he was when he first stepped foot on the island. He wants to be someone to work for that trust (never for it to be simply handed to him), so he tries his best to reform himself. He opens himself in ways he didn’t think he were possible – he lets out his true self and shows his weaknesses that he would otherwise refuse to do. It feels strange… good, but surely strange to be accepted for who he really is. 

Which leads to pride when he feels that he makes his first friend – the first that doesn’t try to hold him at an arm’s length and tries to understand where he comes from. Kuzuryuu smiles and laughs for the first time in ages, proud to have someone worthy to do a sakazuki with – someone to call ‘bro’. He finds it so unbelievable at first (since he doesn’t feel he doesn’t deserve it), but he wouldn’t give it up for anything in the world.

     Hinata blinked at the terms used before a small smile twitched up one      corner of his lips. Of course: those were healing items commonly      associated with roleplaying games – right?

          ‘Y’mean – medicine? I don’t have any on me, but I bet there’s some      at the pharmacy. Shall we go check it out, Nanami?’

I always wonder if Lalnable was the original of all the Lalnas. Wouldn't that be interesting?

that would be pretty interesting now that you say that. 

i mean firstly there's no real mention of where he's come from (like many others, but we know some like xeph n 'dew. but yknow), and it wouldn't be unheard of to clone lalnable, erase all memories, and shorten the name, rather than the other way around. and i'm not 100% sure but i'm pretty sure in voltz xeph mentions firing lalna from staff, and i think his reaction was that he didnt remember it (again, not sure)

i mean as i said, it would be easier to go from an evil scientist to one that isn't, and shortening the name instead. 

(and this is just something i had a brief thought about but maybe it's some kind of paradox. like one of the clones from dwarf star is sent to yoglabs era, he becomes lalnable, endless loop. i mean it wouldnt work because you need a starting point but it'd be weird)
