Hey guys!! If anyone's watching the Rose Parade, look for me in the Tournament of Roses Honor Band! I'll be in the 4th rank of trumpets on the far right (tv side!)

I miss this so much :( not only is the Rose Parade a really (really) long parade route, the first thing you do is the televised stretch of it. for a band, this entails playing your best piece (14:28 "Defying Gravity" in this video) as well as you can continuously, with only 4 counts between plays, until you clear the televised zone

after that we rotate through what you hear here without the gaps, getting to catch our breath during the drum cadences but still marching in perfect time, rank and file for ~6 miles. and I got to do it twice :3

I also got to meet band members from around the country as well as from Japan and got multiple free double meals from in n out (they gave us 2 double doubles & fries each and its such an exhausting performance I could eat it all easily)
