when did you create your blog? 2012
current amount of followers? 450
what do you post about? I’m gonna call it suburban socality wherein I’ve got a lot of nice pictures of earth and pinterest worthy stuff but also Jimmy Fallon videos and stuff from the Denny’s account
do you have any other blogs? I have like five urls saved, most of them halloween versions of echo-of-will
when did your blog reach its “peak”? Hmmmmm I like to think that’s still coming but tbh I think my most new followers and notes on stuff was at the beginning of the summer, end of spring
who is your most active follower? My good friend @pineapple-photographer who followed me for like a year before I realized that she was following me
what made you decide to join tumblr? Peer pressure from my cousin @irretrieavable who is also the love of my life
do you get asks on a daily basis? Not anymore like come on guys notice me there was a period of like three weeks when I got one almost every day and now nOTHING
do you use your mobile or computer? Mostly mobile, but rn I’m on my desktop
why did you choose your URL? Once upon a time, I was 13 and I decided it would be cool to start a band. I rallied a few of my friends and we had one meeting (we stood in a circle with instruments, ate chips, then went to the park), but I was just way too optimistic so I made this giant list of band names from an online generator then never did anything related to that again. Fast forward 18 months and I am somehow roped into this weird website with no idea of what I want my url to be, so I pull out this list of band names, randomly point to one, and make it my url, with every intention of changing it as soon as I think of something better. Fast forward 3 years and here I am, the same lame url, no good ideas, probably never going to change it, using the random three words as my username for literally every website I have joined since I joined tumblr. The end.

Yeah, it makes sense, but what if you put this...
(sidenote: i dont mind the verbal sparring, in fact i like debate and discussion, it's just i want to make sure that outside observers/ you realize that with the situation you prompted for, the most defensible answer, in favor of people who enjoy the works of their problematic faves, is the one I provided)
So, your response has two main arguments, based on my own interpretation (if this were a crossfire, I'd ask which own you were attempting to argue, but since we are typing, I'll address both):
store owner v. bank owner: bank owner wins under my logic
legally, what would happen?
I think in the case of the public's reaction to finding out both their corner store owner, and their bank owner both were found guilty of rape, the business owner would lose out. Although the corner store owner leaves more of the micro impact that I brought up earlier, there is an element of convenience that we have here. The corner store owner's (cso) micro impact works in his favor. Only the people who know him, live around his store, whatever, would be directly impacted by the verdict. They would attempt to steer clear of the store, going to farther stores and whatnot, but will most likely return to his store purely for the sake of convenience.
The bank owner however, is placed in a trust. He's widely regarded as a trustworthy, honest individual, as bank owners will be. With this accusation, people would lose that level of invested trust. People would steer clear of his business inevitably and permanently.
Legally, the jury, as it goes in rape cases, would probably fail to prosecute both of them as one is a "hardworking, respected member of the community" and the other "a social pillar, a guiding financial light".
togetherinthisworld mentioned you in a post “let's have a discussion”
…and watch his films? ashermillstcne glammora
This is where privilege comes in. When I think Woody Allen, Bill Cosby, John Lennon, I think huge cultural icons. When I think Alex Day, I think he's actual human trash.
Woody Allen and company were found to be guilty of despicable things after they were established as icons. Alex Day was found to be trash as he attempted to even break a basic level of youtube notoriety.
I would never watch an Alex Day video knowing what he's done.
But that doesn't mean the privileged get a free pass either. I view John Lennon's "Imagine" as a cruel joke. However, I wouldn't demonize him to the level of Alex Day due to the fact that AD has an effect on a microlevel, and an overall smaller level than Woody Allen meaning his power is greatly concentrated, therefore his access to fans is easy.
So I guess I would appreciate Woody Allen's culturally effect while not appreciating him as a person. Overall, the conclusion that I may be coming too is that we should separate the art from the artist depending on how much power is awarded to the problematic person in the first place.
Alright let's do this thing
