Isla is nearly ten years old now and I can't believe how many countries we have lived in and how many beaches we have walked on together. From the West Indies where we spent nights with leatherback turtles laying eggs in the sand and going out scuba diving every day, to the Baltic Sea in winter and snow with its ice lillies, to the Black Sea, home of Noah's Ark and the largest meromictic basin in the world, to the Beaches of Britain once getting stung by a dead jellyfish on a beach in Scotland. And now in the Channel Islands with all their World War 2 history. Isla's name seems to fit my #italiangreyhound perfectly. So many adventures together and I would love to have so many more. Can't wait for Isla to be on the land support team as I row solo around the whole of the coast of Britain in summer. The best travel companion I ever had. My best friend in the world.
