no one can quite put the finger to it, but there’s just something about tohru— such an endearing feeling to her and her simplicity. she’s the type of person you would probably follow to the very end even if she didn’t ask you for it.
her genuine charms and maturity are her best qualities to be listed, and because of it, she tends to get along with older people rather than the ones of her age.
however, and admittedly, she also seems to have a knack for attracting eccentric, troublesome personalities, who she just can’t bring herself to leave alone.

ever since trainee days, tohru has always been closest to mark. it’s like he’s always been there by default. she considers him to be one of her closest friends (if not the closest).
while a little awkward here and there, you can tell their friendship is genuine and both treasure it dearly. since both of them always lacked in the friends departament, especially in regards to the opposite gender, they’re grateful to have someone who they can count in no matter what.
even if she’s not the most vocal about it, tohru herself gets surprised at times by how much she cares about mark. she’s blatanly unaware of how much he means to her.

listen, hana is tohru’s daughter and no one can’t take that from her. she’s literally so ready to take her custody and adopt her, i’m not kidding.
she’s unexplicably protective of hana— perhaps because everyone seems to abuse of her kindness and tohru’s most certainly not allowing it, not on her watch.
tohru can be a lil’ harsh on her and how she shouldn’t be always nice to everyone because of her straigthforward personality, but she does it because she cares too much about hana and would hate seeing her getting hurt :(

to be honest? tohru’s not even sure how she got to befriend someone like yukhei.
they just happened to have a mutual link (mark) and before they knew it, they were awfully used to each other’s presences. at some point, it was impossible to spot one of them without the other around.
to this day, no one has figured out how is that the two of them, having such stark differences when it comes to their personalities, are as close.

tohru’s been holding yoko at gunpoint since day one. ever since the crossed paths for the first time, they knew it: it was hate at first sight.
they just not vibe. at all. with tohru being the known killjoy she is and yoko being... well, yoko. i think it’s pretty self-explanatory as to why they can’t stand each other.
however, since yoko is so close to arrow, tohru has find herself spending a lot of time (more than she’d like to) around yoko. and, if i may... i’d be a lie to say hadn’t take quite the liking to the insufferable brat yoko is with the years.

in tohru’s words, yuta is the nearest of the brotherly figure she never had. after she joined sm, yuta gave himself the duty of looking out for tohru when she was merely a baby trainee.
it might be their japanese roots and the fact she’s younger, but yuta feels somehow responsible in regards to tohru, hence why he’s always tried to keep an eye on her. even if she considers it unnecesary of him, she actually appreciates it a lot.
rumor has it that they’re actually blood-related bc of how many times yuta has claimed tohru to be "in every level except physical” his little sister.

while yoko brings out tohru’s “i’m-literally-so-done-with-your-bullshit” side, miyu brings her inner softie...,.,.
listen tohru has the softest spot for miyu, and despite miyu being older, tohru’s beyond conviced she’s: babie and will be damned if she doesn’t treats her as such.
tohru always listens to miyu and her spiritual stuff carefully despite not being superstitious per se just because she loves her That much.
