This was the week. At the beginning of the term, it had been announced that a major part of their physiology class would be dissecting a rat, and it would count for a large part of their grade. Yuki rested his chin in his hand, staring out the window of the classroom. Mayu was in front of the class, reminding them that the dissection was scheduled for the next day, and could the class please make sure to be prepared?
They’d be with their usual lab partners, and for Yuki that meant Tohru. He couldn’t leave her to dissect an animal on her own, or else he might have skipped class. His grade was good enough, anyway. But hers wasn’t.
His stomach turned. Just one more day. It wasn’t much time at all. It wasn’t that he had a deep love for rats, but he had known their emotions and fear before. Of course, these would be dead and... well, emotionless. He wouldn’t feel their fear.
Somehow, that made it worse and more bearable at the same time.
