I don’t interact with the toku fandom much outside of a few people, but after seeing this one big account on X admit that they post inflammatory comments because they know negativity gets more engagement than positivity, I decided it was a good thing.

So much for being a fan of shows that teach positivity and spreading good things to humanity huh

I have to say, being a Toku fan in the States sucks when you have to wait for official releases, and hope to god that whatever fansub you're watching doesn't get nuked.

All the while Hasbro decides, on a whim, to be really shitty about the only big Toku property in the United States, hoarding it like a dragon while stifling Sentai releases.

Tokusatsu Thursday 10/1

Next week for Tokusatsu Thursday is a bit of a change of pace.  

It is going to be a celebration of Tokusatsu Fandom as presented in dramatic form!

The first show is Kaiju Club, a drama about Tokusatsu fandom (revolving around the Ultra series) in the 1970s.  Follow a young man working on a fanzine in a Pre-VHS world trying to hide his passion for monsters from his girlfriend in an attempt to maintain a normal life.

Second is Tokusatsu GaGaGa.  Kano Nakamura is a 26 year old Office Lady who, in the privacy of her own home, is a massive tokusatsu fangirl.  Hiding her fandom from others because of her Mother's disapproval, she finds kindship and happiness when she meets another woman who shares her passion on the train one day.
