This won’t mean anything to most of you but as someone whose favorite sniper rifle has been the PSG-1 ever since playing Metal Gear Solid back in 1999, this is a big deal

A friend of mine gave me his Tokyo Marui PSG-1 a few months ago, which is a classic and rare airsoft gun known for extreme difficulty in finding replacement or upgrade parts.

Thanks to the magic of the Internet I found some long-discontinued and often reputed to be impossible to acquire Systema upgrade parts

It was a day I was trying for a more "realistic" build with full plates/belt/etc but instead this thing spoke to me like the Green Goblin mask and it was the rental kids who suffered for it.

Something interesting I noticed in RE2 Remake new trailer

PART 1 : LEON’S HANDGUN

On this pic we see that Leon’s VP70 is a bit longer, like he found a piece to upgrade it.

As we see here, the upgrade he received on his VP70 is clearly a compensator, for those of you who don’t know what a compensator is, it is a device connected to the muzzle of a firearm or cannon that redirects propellant gases to counter recoil and unwanted rising of the barrel.

From the demo we also learned that Leon may find a larger magazine for his handgun :

Now you may wonder why am I talking about all of this ? Well Capcom just showed us what Leon’s VP70 upgrades will be, a larger magazine and a compensator for better recoil which might be pretty useful for making nice headshots in the game...But this also means one thing :

We can say goodbye to the original upgrade Leon had for his VP70 in RE2, allowing him to fire in burst mode. We’re leaving the possibility to turn Leon’s handgun from a little machine gun for a more accurate pistol.

Thank you VP70 burst, you were a true friend.

PART 2 : LEON’S SHOTGUN

Leon’s shotgun from the demo seems to be the exact same thing from the original RE2 right ? ( Well except for that damp squib sound when you’re firing but whatever )

What’s this at the end of the new trailer ? Leon’s shotgun is now longer ! Did he find a new piece to upgrade it ? Seems like it !

Now all he need is a wooden rifle butt and he’s set !

PART 3 ( BONUS ) : LEON’S MAGNUM

As we all know, in Resident Evil 2, Leon use a Desert Eagle .50 AE as a magnum. In SD Perry novel “City Of The Dead”, we learn that it was a gift from Leon’s dad and uncle for being the top of his class at the police academy, so when Tokyo Marui decided to make Leon’s Desert Eagle as an airsoft pistol, they added Leon’s signature to it :

Then they made the upgraded version of the RE2 Desert Eagle with the 10inch barrel :

And we had not so long ago a limited edition “Chrome Stainless” of Leon’s Desert Eagle with the 10inch barrel :

Hard to see but the “Leon” is still present on the gun.

Why am I bringing this up you ask ? Well TGS 18 happened, and Tokyo Marui decided it was time to show their new baby.

BEHOLD THE NEW RESIDENT EVIL 2 DESERT EAGLE : 

IT’S TWO EDITIONS IN ONE ! 

The new barrel feel a little “sport” if you catch my drift, like some sort of competition barrel, anyway I like it. 

The only thing I don’t like is how the new handle look like for the Desert Eagle, I liked the old one better with the “Raccoon Police” insigna on it and Leon’s signature.

...Also I’m too poor to buy it so yeah :v

*Tokyo Marui High Capa 4.3 Gold Match with Night Evolution Weaponlight attached.“ When i look at this gun i really feel like i want to have it, especially because as a 14 yrs old kid i only wanted marui pistols and they are great indeed. But if you’ve felt a metal frame or slide the first time it’s hard to go back for me. I mean ok there are „not on stock“ „fairly expensive“ aftermarket parts but it’s not the same for me. Why can’t Tokyo Marui produce outside of japan so that all fans of more realism could buy them and have their fabric still in japan for japanese customers, traditional reasons or players who want a slightly more leightweight feel? They would sell it anyways. But nobody knows what the future might brings... There are some GBB(R)s out there which are made of metal, i know but for the most part it remains plastic. So maybe i will buy this gun somewhere but for now it’s no „Gold“ Match.
