Here’s a little teaser for my upcoming namjoon social media au!

This is one of two songs that inspired Next to you. Something about the lyrics and how the narrator feels so disconnected really sparked something in me. At the same time the feelings of longing for someone felt very familiar. The song describes y/n and Namjoons feeling of missing something or someone, but they can’t figure out what.

“It’s okay for me if we meet in dreams,” a secretive smile playing on her lips. 

“Where are you?” he asked, a desperation laced in his voice as he felt the time impending to end, this illusion, this subconscious place his mind has created in order to find inspiration. 

“Where you’ll never come, or rather, where you’ve been and never returned,” she fades into just another lucid memory, where he is convinced his soulmate was kept. He woke up to another lonely day, took a notepad on the side of his bed and scraggly wrote across the paper, 

“If I could choose my dream, I just want to stay right next to you.”
