The Archers theme tune had never been more effective than at the end of this week’s podcast. The sheer sarcasm of it. Almost like it was joining in the audience as we all laughed at Tom rejection and humiliation.

Kirsty: Don’t you think my feelings are mixed up enough. Getting pregnant when I wasn’t planning to. Wondering what people would say, how I was going to cope. Everyone knowing that the father was the man who left me at the altar.

Tom: But I’d never let you down, I’ve learned my lesson…

Kirsty: How dare you, how dare you come here and stir up all those horrible memories.

Tom: I didn’t mean to.

Kirsty: This is exactly why I put off telling you for so long. All I really needed was a bit of support.

Tom: That’s what I’m trying to give you…

Kirsty: No! You’re trying to make yourself feel better for the vile thing you did to me.
