Considering what happened in Gagnarok(still can't believe you'd even IMAGINE locking loki up in a porta potty), it's only going to see a resurgence of Loki's Army and I'm about that shit. I hope Marvel understands Tom/Loki's worth. Although i feel it won't happen because Ragnarok totally overhauled thor life. New friends and all. Taike himself said something like destroying everything that came before, and that includes Loki. Thor's disregard for loki has in some way led to what happened in IW
I remember just when I thought things can’t get worse with Gagnarok, the deleted scenes were released and I was like yeah it seems it could’ve been much worse. You know what was worst of it all, the picture from a scene that they made Loki KNEEL in front of all other characters. It still makes me beyond furious.
I agree about resurgence of Loki’s Army. We don’t accept that ending and we don’t tolerate how they’ve treated the character, his fans and Tom. What they did, apart from being disrespectful, is just stupid. I’ve always seen when a character is shone and loved beyond expectations, the writers invest more on them to satisfy the fans. MCU is doing exactly the opposite. They are wasting a complicated character like Loki and one of the best actors of their franchise.
I’m not hopeful either. The way I see it, they had planned everything for exactly this, to kill Loki in a way that would be believable. They wanted to get rid of Loki but first they had to diminish the character, his powers and intelligence, dismiss everything that made the fans love him, so when they kill him, it won’t be a reaction like what they got in TDW. They hired Taika for exactly this, to respectfully disrespect everything. In a way I agree that the reason they introduced new characters and killed Thor’s old friends is because they hope for a totally new Thor movie with funnier characters, but it really depends of what audience want to see and I’m not sure if people accept a Thor movie without Loki. I’m not sure what you mean about Thor’s disregard for Loki led to what happened in IW. Although Thor disregarded Loki’s feelings in TR, which was mostly the result of poor characterization on behalf of writers, the movie weirdly established that Thor very much needs Loki. He couldn’t save his people if Loki wouldn’t show up with a ship and later resurrect Surtur and he was emotionally devastated in IW and showed suicide tendencies for losing Loki.

one of the things that i abhor about fandom is the acceptance (and even expectation?) of group stalking. the idea that it’s totally okay to not only take pictures of celebrities while they are going about their daily lives, but to then post them and share them all over the internet and discuss them in fandom settings is beyond grotesque. it’s not behavior that we would allow it in our own lives (i.e. people following us around to take pictures of us as we get groceries or while on holiday with our friends or family), and to think that celebrities some how owe us this invasion is beyond words. this type of group stalking (which has been pushed by the paparazzi and bleed into the every person since we all have cameras 24/7, and probably feeds a great deal into actual stalking) has expanded to such things as the exact location of where these people live, waiting outside their homes for a glimpse of them coming and going, as well as seeking out places that they workout, eat, shop, spend time with their families, etc. there was a moment while i was in the Hiddleston fandom in which i had a very clear idea (if not out right knowledge) of where Tom was at any given time, not because i sought out this information, but because the fandom at large was sharing every single sighting of him, this realization turned my stomach and was part of the reason i left. i find myself in this position yet again, despite my best efforts to stay on the edge of fandom. apparently group stalking is so commonplace and expected (and accepted for some fucking reason) that even trying to stick to the edges of fandom in which we mostly share the products our favs produce and pictures and artwork of them and staying out of fandom theories and drama is not enough. how sad that those that claim to care about these people are the same people that are willing to let these practices continue. i do care about these people, which is why i try hard to only share things (mostly pictures) that are not blatantly exploiting people and participating in group stalking, and this effort has now forced me to all but fully step away from fandom. i know this will cause me to miss some actually important things (such as announcements of new works), but my own sanity depends on it. i can not knowingly participate in something that brings even a small amount of discomfort or pain to someone i care about, whether they know it or not. i have, as of a few minutes ago, unfollowed a lot of blogs that i truly liked because they were sharing pics that were clearly taken without the subjects permission. some of these blogs were mutuals, and i am saddened that i felt the need to unfollow them for something seemingly so small, but it really isn’t that small to me. if you care about someone, you act as though you do, and this is the only way i can do that. i’ve been a part of fandoms for a very very long time, and this is the second time that i have walked away from a fandom because of this kind of behavior, it saddens me more than you know, i am only grateful that this time around the fandom didn’t actually ruin anything and i can still call myself a fan.
i also wanted to say that i am aware that i have, in the past, shared pictures of this nature, and while i’m not going to go through and remove them at this point (what’s done is done), i am working on being better and will be more aware of what i share and post.
Holy fuuuck it was the world premiere and they were all there - Olivia Colman, Hugh Laurie, Tom Hiddleston - even John Le Carré! How do I fucking deserve this, I’m just a poor film student too dumb for real things fuck me sideways I’ll upload a vid in a moment
