My freakin’ god, Sex Education (Netflix), is so good. They are touching upon so many different things - not just the actual sex aspect - It touched on friendships, family relationships, LGBTQ, sexual harassment, Mental health, Feminism, and more. It’s so good and highly recommended watching it!!

Yes, Dumbledore’s introduced in this film, and he’ll become a more significant as we go on. But I think the whole exploration of Dumbledore as not the person who we spent time with in the Harry Potter films…I mean, he is, but it’s how he became who he became. And we always knew he was a puppet master, and he is a little bit here too. Like he did with Harry, he’s been playing Newt a little bit. Newt went to New York, in part, because of what Dumbledore did. But also Dumbledore’s demons, his dark side. The fact that he and Grindelwald were so close, that there was a point where he was not unsympathetic to Grindelwald. He loved him, and though we only touch on the love now, again, it will go deeper. It’s where it should be right now. You can’t do everything in one film. But I think, it’s pretty clearly suggested, with “we were more than friends.” We may not see them making out in that film. Which maybe some people want. But you really get a sense there was more there. That’s, you know, getting a sense of his demons, and the appeal of Grindelwald, the power of Grindelwald is something that we see in this, and we’ll see going forward.

So TODAY had an exclusive ‘sneak peek’ visit to the set of the Downton Abbey film (doesn’t reveal anything of course), I just watched it on youtube and the comment with the most likes was “I hope they find a mate for Thomas in the movie” how about yasss

With Credence's being Aurelius Dumbledore, people have been speculating many things. There are a few similar theories floating around that he is the baby of Gellert and Albus. What are your thoughts? So far I haven't seen anyone mention yet the connection between the name meaning of Aurelius and the blood pact. Aurelius means golden and the blood in the bloodpact turns from red to gold. Why would the blood be gold? I feel like there is a connection but maybe not... what are your thoughts on him?

Few people in this fandom ship grindeldore as much as I do, but no. It won’t be connected. All of these things are completely unrelated and this theory does not make sense at all. And he definitely won’t be their child.

While it might not be the most waterproof theory ever proposed, to me it still makes more sense than all the other theories about Credence's origin ¯\ _(ツ)_/¯ It's a world of magic. I'm a believer. Whether you think this would make for good storytelling is a question of individual taste, of course (personally, I would love it for giving more depth to Grindeldore, among other things). 

I think the ‘gold’ connection is intriguing.

In 1942, Aurelius Dumbledore and his wife Nagini welcomed their first and only child, a son. Continuing the family tradition of favouring the letter A, they named him Aragog. Due to his impressive magical genome he went to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry while still an egg. There he was fostered by the half-giant Rubeus Hagrid and became one of the first children to be bullied by the dark wizard Thomas Riddle (later known as Lord Voldemort). This experience lead him to choose a reclusive, self-sustaining lifestyle in the Scottish forests. He passed away in 1997, but is survived by more than 20.000 descendants. However, since him and his wife Mosag, due to their hippie habits, never bothered with marriage and birth certificates, Aragog Dumbledore is considered to be the last of the Dumbledore lineage (for now).

Assumptions about Credence’s identity (COG spoilers..)

Grindelwald wasn’t lying, but he wasn’t telling the whole truth, either. Let’s look at things objectively.

Ezra Miller has now spoken about the ‘fact’ that Credence Barebone is Dumbledore’s brother / Aurelius Dumbledore. 

First, in this IGN video he shares the story of how producer David Heyman told him (about two years ago) “You’re Dumbledore’s brother.” He thinks he is talking about Aberforth and apparently Heyman thinks so, too. Ezra is in shock, of course: “How do I get an English accent? How do my eyes turn blue?” like the good fanboy he is.

Then, a few weeks later, he meets Rowling and she tells him:  “Oh, no. You’re not Aberforth, you’re Aurelius.” - “”Who’s that?” - “Nobody knows about him but me, Darling. And you now.” 

Also, let’s look at this EW article: “Going into the second film, he says the knowledge that he’s a Dumbledore (yes, it’s apparently true) caused him to tweak his performance slightly.’Yes, on a certain, a very, very subtle level,’ Miller says. [...] ‘So as he changes, there’s an opportunity for me as an actor to look to five of my favorite performances of all time — the people I’ve seen play Albus and Aberforth. Shout out to all those incredible actors, and I’m thrilled to play the game that we’re now blood relations.’” 

What does this mean? Firstly, I don’t think JKR is feeding Ezra Miller false information. Or that he is doing that to the public right now. It remains possible. But let’s assume they’re both saying the truth. 

1) His real name Aurelius (as stated by Rowling according to Miller)

2) He is a Dumbledore, blood relative to Aberforth and Albus (as strongly indicated by Miller in the article) 

3) He is Albus Dumbledore’s brother according to D. Heyman, BUT: 

apparently that guy doesn’t know shit, thinking Credence was Aberforth 

Rowling said Miller and herself were the only two people in the world who knew at that point 

Rowling was probably only telling Heyman the ending to Crimes of Grindelwald (= what everybody knows now) and not the whole story which is set to be told over the the course of the next installments 

It still wouldn’t be possible timeline-wise

So. This was exactly the way I’ve been thinking all along. Grindelwald wasn’t lying, but he wasn’t telling the whole truth either. Credence is a Dumbledore, but not a brother to Albus. 

We know now that Credence was born in 1901 or 1900 (according to the screenplay’s date of the shipwreck). He might have received Ariana’s obscurus shortly after she died. But the question remains, where did the child itself come from? 

I know some people think he might be the child of Honoria Dumbledore, the unmarried aunt who broke up with her fiancé because he had a kink of fondling some pink, fungus-like magical creatures (Horklumps), as explained in Dumbledore’s footnotes to The Tales of Beedle the Bard. Somehow... no. Just no. 

And Ariana & Aberforth were too young and had a whole load of other problems at the time (plus it would make for cheap storytelling).

My best bet remains that Credence is the biological child of Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald. Read here why.

me, an intellectual: big mouth talks about puberty and actually goes into depth, something that no other show would bother doing. it also talked about consent, female sexuality, and how it’s okay to be gay or not sure what exactly you are. people are only upset because it’s an uncomfortable topic. it’s uncomfortable for a reason though, and that is because no one is talking about it and making it a taboo subject. keeping it that way by rejecting shows like this that actually talk about the struggles of puberty and sexuality, especially in middle schoolers, is the exact problem.

He sure followed that direction.
