#architects#tom searle#there isn't a huge architects base on tumblr so this could just be me posting into the void#but it's 9 years today since tom searle died and i was rewatching this video and it's on my mind#the way i wouldn't have blamed them at all if they hadn't played this song at all in those first months/years#i will never be able to comprehend the strength it took tom to write/record/play it#the entire album tbh#knowing what he knew#don't get me started on memento mori#“when the veil lifts / how will i know? / will i see god?” haunts me#i'm 4 years older than he ever got to be now and it just hits me sometimes. then thinking about dan and the thought of losing my twin.#the fact that they started this band together. it was theirs before it was anybody else's.#it's been 9 years and it still gives me just that little ache of sadness in my chest#idk i hate that this maybe borders on parasocial but#tom's death really rocked me and i still think about him a lot. architects are so special to me and i'm just so thankful they kept going#despite how needlessly shitty people have been since then (you all suck)#anyway#thanks for coming to my ted talk#i just have a lot of feelings#T//S forever#my gifs
