Chicago now has an LGBT mayor AND an LGBT vice mayor.
Lori Lightfoot famously became Chicago’s first openly LGBT mayor on 20 May 2019. But lesser known nationally is the fact that Chicago also has an LGBT vice mayor.
The Chicago Tribune reported late last month...
Wrigleyville Ald. Tom Tunney, 44th, now chairs the powerful Zoning Committee and serves as vice mayor.
Tom Tunney was first elected to the Chicago City Council in 2003 and became the first openly gay alderman in the city’s history.
