YEP. It used to be my mom's insurance through work (when she worked) so I was like "oh they're cool." THOSE DAYS HAVE PASSED. I NOW SEE AETNA AS THE DEVIL THEMSELF.

i didn’t even think you’d HAVE a unicycle story omg. and that sounds awful.

that, sadly, is also my ONLY unicycle story. and yeah, there's a reason i really hated gym class. (i got a d running the mile. oh and also only a few years later i found that i could walk the mile only about two minutes slower than i could run it. guess who's never running a mile again.)

unicycles

I was really confused for a minute because I totally forgot about the ask thing and I was like ????? why is melisa into unicycles now???? but i got it i GOT it

sophia will tell you, too, when we were in middle school, we had this gym teacher named MR. G. was that his real name? no one knows. but do know this: he was a terror. i still remember the things he used to say, like YOU WILL BE TIMED ON THE MILE. YOUR GRADE WILL DEPEND ON THAT TIME. (i do not run unless my life depends on it or unless i am trying to catch a bus. this was a problem.)

oh, and each unit would have a test at the end--the unit was basically us training to be able to do the test. think of the test like a boss fight. one such kind was the whole DO A HANDSTAND FOR THIRTY SECONDS thing. i thought my head was gonna explode.

but anyway, anyway, this is all just background so you understand--one of the first units we did was unicycles. Yes. Now, this unit was not like, "do your best and don't die," it was GET ON A FUCKING UNICYCLE AND RIDE ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE GYM WITHOUT FALLING, THE LONG WAY. HOT DOG STYLE."

I have never touched a unicycle again in my life.
