What do yoooooouuuu consider to be a good mobile or desktop theme? Like what would it need and such?

ooooh my crickey okay this is so difficult ??? i think it really depends on what type of blog it is. but my first tip - never use a tumblr default theme. they’re clunky and honestly... idk... it just seems a bit lazy?? like i completely understand that some people may not know how to install a custom theme, but it’s not too difficult, and it just makes masses of difference to a blog.

personally, i really like light coloured themes. it’s like.... painting a room. if you paint it a dark colour, it tends to look all claustrophobic, and you’re very aware of how small it is. but light colours really open it up.

also, personally i’m not a fan of themes that hide captions, and as someone who tags everything, i always need my themes to be able to show tags. also, size 8 font steals my heart (especially if it’s roboto) (i’m such a nerd just don’t) (i actually managed to recognise that the font on my bf’s phone was roboto) (do not even ask) (years of coding have ruined me) (i’ll never be fit for real life again) (i am destined to spend forever behind my computer screen)

as for mobile themes - i think, the simpler the better. try not to use images as headers, because they never seem to fit, and always stretch in weird ways and always pixilate. try and find something that’s either transparent / has a block colour background - try to find out what colour this is and use it as the background for your whole mobile theme as well !!! also, try and keep your title on one line, and try and make sure your description isn’t a mess. but honestly, mobile themes are a nightmare, and anyone who is too fussy with them will find themselves loosing their mind before they even like how it looks. (ps your mobile theme is a perffecttt example of how to do a mob theme, it’s gorgeous !!)

but it’s v important for people to always remember that tumblr blogs are a personal space for you and you only. pick a theme that you like, pick colours that you like. just because i like things to look a certain way, doesn’t mean that’s the right way. in fact, there is no right way. there’s only your way.

Soooo uhhh. I have this side blog? Just for aethetics, and I tagged everything "t and q aesthetics" and I would look it up, just on the regular tumblr search, aaaaaanddd it wouldn't be there?? Is this a setting issue?? Or just MEE? Like 😰. HALP.

oooh i dunno i think tumblr sometimes seriously mucks hp with the tags & sometimes they take ages to show & idk tumblr has literally tons of bugs, most of the time it’s not your fault it’s theirs
