Upon meeting for the first time, Irina realised two things - one, Tom was impossibly tall, she felt tiny, even in her heels, and two, they had met at a party in London before, both very drunk, and given a rendition of “Help” by the Beatles, much to everyone’s amusement.

Tom is so easy to talk to that Irina forgets more times than not that they haven’t been friends all their lives.

Despite a seeming “it’s complicated” status between her friends Claire and Tom, she never took sides, and never will. She likes them both together, and separately, and even though she wishes them to figure things out, if they don’t, it won’t be because she meddled in their business.

Irina had never expected them to, but whenever the three Ellis girls are in town, they will take Lea under their wing and go on epic adventures with her in the park. Her daughter won’t stop talking about them for weeks.
