Rainbow
(A poem for Tenko Shimura | Tomura Shigaraki)
I had no foundation but the house I hated,
And when it crumbled, it left me to nothing.
Rainbows twist freely across the sky
But you put me in the earth and trained me in the garden
To be something ugly and gnarled for you to use
Twisted to the fence and left outside with the dog.
All trees will, one day, stop giving fruit
And a damaged one never will,
But the life it leads barren is still precious.
I refused to bear fruit for you
I refused to let you use me to build your house
I refused to leave the foundation untouched
And let the roots of my anguish destroy it with a hungry, heartbroken desperation.
I could not be destroyed by fire
And I will not hold your grief in my heart
Because my heart is only meant to hold mine.
Let me go in peace.
Mourn me or don’t.
Call me Tomura or don’t.
My names are things someone else decided,
And from now on, I decide and no one else.
If I take your hand, it is because I choose to
And if I do not, it is also because I choose to.
It is a choice made in peace.
In the deluge of tears and ashes,
just know that in the aftermath,
I will not be defeated by the rain
Because I am the rainbow and the sun shines on me
Not by the will of the people,
But by my own.

WINGED TOMURAFO YESSS
Does he have stubble or are those lines war wounds????
I MUST KNOW
The trifecta of “this looks sick as fuck, but I’m a little worried about you, sweetie”
