This girl I love.
There is this girl, her name is Tonderai. Her name is Remember. So how could you forget her? I met this girl, this girl I would love before i knew it, without even meaning to, when I was seventeen years old. And we didn't know anything about living, we knew little of life. But love found us, in similarities and quirks and the shared things that lived under both our skins. Skin sister, soul sister, fragment-of-a-heart sister. Scars on arms that matched, and her laughter resounding in my head, and my hand held out for her to hold. I loved her. There is this letter, written on paper ripped out of a notepad. Black ink, robust square letters spelling out the language she had in those days. Folded up neat and pretty, dated February 2009, three years ago. Three years ago. She opened up to me, she put her faith in me, her trust, her little fears. So I found this letter, written in Harare, I found it here in Melbourne, in a box of my messy things. A letter written by a girl you can't forget, after all her name is Remember. This letter, it made me cry. I am thankful to have her. I am glad for her love. Always, forever. I love her.

Maiden Of Spring
This is the 1st of my Four Maidens collections. Did this piece last year. The idea is the one energy transforms and creates different seasons. Each picture is one energy manifesting in various forms.
So in this picture we have the energy transforming herself as spring, the colours reflect this bright joyful energy, the butterflys, flowers and roses. Finally the energy manifests as a physical being, shes enjoying all she has created. She is in her own world hence the surreal way the roses bend.
The model used is actually a ex, at the time i wanted to capture the care freeness internal beauty I saw. But art is a journey I realised as i progressed, it was also about me.
How I saw spring, I'm very introvert, in my own world just like the picture. I'm one person, but my energies change, this is reflecting a part of my persona. When the idea for Autumn came I was walking in the park looking at how the leaves fell, very much in my own world, but I'll explain more of that in the Autumn post.
I started to wonder after I completed this, is all my art about me am i reflecting parts of me?
