“Land Ho!!”
@askcupheadthings
After days of being tossed at sea in their little boat, Bonely was busy sulking below deck, wondering if it was possible for a skeleton to get queasy. His brother Salem had taken to sailing like a fish to water—not really surprising considering how easy it was for Sal to adapt to new places. Bonely, on the other hand, wanted nothing more to do with the ocean. He missed the land and was sure his bones would be permanently tinted grin with how seasick he’d been.
What was he thinking wanting an adventure like this? Sure, sailing suited Salem, but this was awful! However his unhappy thoughts were interrupted by a joyous cry from on deck. Curious and kind of irritated at being interrupted in his brooding, Bonely grabbed his hat and made his way up on deck.
“What’s goin’ on Sal?” the skeleton asked, squinting up at the helm where his brother stood.
“Look!” Salem shouted, pointing ahead of the boat excitedly. “Land ho, Bonely! Land ho!”
Gasping excitedly, the skeleton scampered to the bow, shading his eyes with his hand. There it was, the first island of Inkwell Isle and he could even see people there on the shore. “Yer right Sal! Land! An’ there’s people there too!” The two brothers whooped and cheered as they waved at the island denizens, pausing only to let Bonely get his gloves and scarf on so as not to scare anyone when they arrived.
