They are known for being your classic ‘trickster’ format of cartoons. They can be charming and charismatic. However, they also will cause a constant barrage of pranks, lies and wild stunts. They love to be entertaining even if there is no audience. Like many Toons, they like to be the center of attention. Rascally though, can be a little more aggressive about it.
Despite their negative aspects they can turn out to be loyal friends to a fault. If one of their pranks causes real pain to an ally, they are genuinely sorry. Because of their nature, they often have out of the box solutions for sticky situations.
Most Friendly With: If Rascally has a personality that clicks well with a Two-Tone they easily become thicker than thieves.
Least Friendly With: Gallant. Out of all of the Toon genres, even Gothica, Rascally find Gallant to be way too serious. In a lot of cases, Rascally finds them to be a lot like the targets of their torment in their own shows/universes. This just makes the Gallant easy targets for the Rascally’s teasing and trickery.
Birthrights (Strengths) -
Shape Changing: Each Rascally has the ability for a convincing disguise at any given moment. Shape Changing costs a point of Glamour, but revering back is free. With this form comes a -2 difficulty on any Persuasion and Subterfuge roles. Even the large and scary forms tend to be far more playful than deadly, even when a fight breaks out.
Confidant: The innate charm of a Rascally breaks down the barriers of even the coldest people. Adding a Toon’s curiosity to that makes him an outstanding confidant. Once during a conversation, a Rascally may roll a Perception + Empathy (or Subterfuge) to get another Toon or human to spill her guts; the difficulty is the 'victim's' Willpower. Each success allows a truthful answer to one personal question. This isn't an instantaneous effect, though. It takes time, effort and role-playing to coax out the information. This birthright functions normally at all times, even with humans. A Rascally can never botch an Empathy or Subterfuge roll.
Chatterbox: Rascally simply can’t stop talking. Even when physically forced to shut up, their uncontrollable urge to fill the world with sound causes them to compulsively tap their feet or fingertips to the great annoyance of those around them. Their unending verbosity more often finds an outlet in debating with the enemies about gossip or metaphysical philosophies instead of actually physically fighting them.
Ego's Folly: Rascally cannot handle the humility of admitting that someone has more talent than they do. They insist on seeing themselves as the most creative beings in the Toon and human world. If a Rascally hears that someone is better than he at his chosen artistic focus, he challenges the “upstart” to a competition to determine who is better. The audience of the duel, whether the competition happens in a gallery or onstage, decides the winner. If the Rascally loses the competition, the full wrath of the muse is brought to bear. The Toon would do everything in their power to make the victorious person’s life miserable (and often that of the foolish judges), even to the extent of electing new talents.
