i feel like people respond that way bc theres a lotta trans men who have detransitioned and decided they to be shitty terfs
yeah ive noticed a number of those -___- they also put a stigma on detransitioning, which is 100% fine if it’s what you gotta do!! but people just shouldn’t jump right to that assumption, ya know? we should be more aware of and openly discuss trans experiences that don’t fit a comfortable, palatable, linear narrative. i’ve had a number of folks just like....decide that i’m a detransitioned cis girl (which, again, isn’t inherently bad??) as soon as i started branching away from masculinity. it was like a hostile accusation too, as if i was some sort of traitor or liar lol. they didn’t even ask me what’s up re: my gender, it was just this all-or-nothing thing. i’m not sensitive but it was kinda upsetting bc i DO take pride in being trans.
i just wish i didn’t feel pressured to explain myself constantly JUST in case some rando’s making negative assumptions and is gonna come be exhausting in my presence
