Three days after seeing my dentist for a root canal

So I contacted my dentist two weeks after discovering some discomfort with one of my tooth. I know it was stupid of me to prolonged the pain & decision to make a dentist appointment, and trust me. I'm definitely getting a painful lesson out of this. So yeah, flashforward to this week, I made an appointment to see my dentist and came into his office to get some x-ray shots of my tooth. He told me that I would have to wait 2-3 weeks for him to process some paperwork for my root canal procedure. That day, I had one class to attend in the afternoon, but I chose to ditch because the pain gotten worse (this happened twice this week for the same class). I was desperate for any type of immediate pain reliever, so I opted for ibuprofen pills and an anesthetic paste, but that only helped for like an hour and a half before I start to feel the pain again. Some of the symptoms I've gotten up to this day are: pulsating pain in my tooth, jaw and neck, irritation in my ear, a painful pimple located in between my right ear and the tooth where it hurts, and another symptom which brought us to today's Google search, numbness in half of my head and a bump on the top of my head (the side where my toothache is). I plan to call my dentist's office tomorrow to discuss my symptoms, but as of now, I've done some unreliable research online and have found that my case might be a serious one. 😐🤨 So yeah... Story of my life for this month. I also want to note that I have two presentations to prepare for in the next two weeks, but I'm having a hard time speaking as the pain in my tooth is making it tough for me to speak normally without rubbing my tooth on the tooth that hurts.

In the meantime, I'm still doing whatever it takes to get rid of the toothache that shows up every four to five hours after feeling just numbness in half of my face. The cycle repeats and it's getting a bit irritating because I want to know what's really going on, but I don't have much info., Other than following my dentist's advice to just take Ibuprofen and wait for those two weeks before he gets back to me about making an appointment.

I've tried putting salt in that tooth, gargling warm water mixed with salt, flossing and brushing my teeth more often, rubbing ice against the outer layer of my skin to where the toothache is, popping cough drops in my mouth to soothe a sore throat/pain in the tooth, putting salonpas on my neck near the tooth, and taking ibuprofen every four hours. Nothing really proved to work aside ipuprofen, but it takes about 25 minutes before the medicine begins to kick in, so idk.

My main concern as of today is the numbness in the right side of my mouth, face, neck, jaw, and head. I just hope my dentist will give me an earlier appointment with tomorrow's phone call. I need to speed this up and solve my problem before it gets any worse than this!
