"wake up!" (prince edward)
send me “wake up!” to wake my muse from a nightmare.
First the death of his mother— sad and tragic, made Edward cry all week. He would not leave his room and refused to listen to his father. He didn’t want him to re-marry, because they might forget his mother, and he didn’t want to forget her.
When he was a teenager, his father suddenly ‘ passed away ‘ and they had a funeral for him. His ‘ new ‘ mother, aka his step-mother stood next to him, hand on his shoulder. They both shred tears for the man. Edward lost another family member. First his mother, then his father. And thus he began caring for his step-mother, loving her as she was the only family he had and he couldn’t bear the thought of losing her too.
Suddenly the scenery changes, and he finds himself standing in front of three coffins, he was facing the one in the middle. The other two was his father and mother.
“Stupid brat... You are always in the way, you’re stupid and I can’t allow you to marry anyone!” His step-mother’s voice boomed out loud, thunder and lightning joined her, making it look like a terrifying atmosphere. Edward turns, back now facing the middle coffin that somehow opened without his knowledge.
“Step-mother. W-What... What are you saying!?” He shouts out; voice trembling with fear, even his blue eyes showed the fear that was swirling in his hues.
“What I’m saying is that...” She lifts her leg and props her heel on Edward’s chest.
“...I WANT YOU DEAD!” The heel rams into him, making him fall back into the coffin. The lid closes just when Edward enters, and the prince tried to open it. Yet couldn’t, it was... stuck or locked!
“S-Step mother. Please... let me out! S-Step mother... Step mother!”
“Have fun joining your parents. Hahaha...!~” Evil laughter was heard and slowly faded until he could only hear the thunder and lightning.
In his nightmare, he could feel... slobber on his cheek, as if someone was licking him.
“...!!” He snaps his eyes open; revealing the fear and sadness that was still there, and will always be there as the aftermath of the nightmare affected him greatly. “H-Hahh...” He sits up and pants. “...H-Huh...?” Edward looks at the dragon, seeing the beast look... worried, he could see it in his eyes. “I-I’m fine. Just a weird nightmare. H-Haha...” Edward tries to laugh it off, he failed that as more tears rushed down his cheeks.
“I-I’ll be fine...” He tilts forward; hunching his back so his forehead could softly press against his knees. “I-I’m fine...” A whimper escapes his trembling lips. He can’t stop the tears now, so he lets them roll down his cheeks just to stain the red blankets that covered his lap.
