#top surgery updates

Just so you guys know, my top surgery went really well, like the surgeon was impressed with himself once he saw how it’s looking today lmao

I’m experiencing minimal pain and discomfort, and I’ve even been walking around today! I’m very happy with my body and my life at the moment.

my top surgery date is in less than two weeks!! I'm so fucking excited now that I've passed through all the scheduling and authorization hoops!! in less than two weeks I will be boob free!!!! i cant wait!!!!!

oh also! 4 week post surgery appointment update!

the doctor i met with said everything is healing really well and that it's going to look really good! she said that the puckering on my right side is a deep stitch, and to massage it when i can to encourage it to release and start flattening out!

How much has your top surgery cost? as far as the surgery itself and the stuff like consultations and meds

so these are the estimated costs from our bank statement, there might be additional bills and stuff!

the subtotal charge (includes iv fluids, pain meds, medical supplies, time spent in the recovery room) is $11, 945.66

Baystate (the hospital) deducted $4,203.38 from that, leaving $7,742.28 due to my provider

my insurance (GIC) also paid $7,442.19

which leaves my total surgery cost at only $300.09

but! there is a seperate bill from the anesthesiologist that will not be covered by insurance. mine totals $2,192

all together, that's $2,492.09

these are not the total costs. there may still be additional bills and deductables that we'll get in the mail. my top surgery fund should cover a good chunk of it

what's your range of motion like this far post op? I heard it would be hard to lift your arms over your head for a long time

it's pretty good actually! i'm allowed to lift my arms over my head as of 2 days ago (which marked exactly 6 weeks post op), and it's not hard, but there's a bit of a tug on my chest/ the scars under my armpits when i do. for me at least, it's really not bad at all at this point, my range of motion is completely back

it's been really good! today was my four week mark!! all my stiches are disolved and my chest is scarring v nicely! the swelling on my right side is almost gone now. there's still some puckering on my right side, but it's definately starting to flatten out a bit! i've been putting Vaseline on my nips and scars every day for the past few weeks (doctors orders) to keep everything soft and hydrated. i actually have my 1 month follow up visit tomorrow, so if there's anything of note, i'll post it on here!!!
