Full set interview with Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany
About how Wanda and Vision feel about each other:
Is there anything else you can say about your charactersâ relationship?
Bettany: I think that Visionâs been on this quest to understand what being human is and I think Scarlet Witch [has] in a large degree helped him figure that out and what love is. [Sings] âI wanna know what love is?â Itâs in the movie, thatâs the scene the paparazzi [shot]. âI wanna know what love is?â Yeah, so theyâre trying to figure that out.
Olsen: [Continues singing] âI want you to show meâŠâ
Bettany: Yeah, so thatâs whatâs been going on and theyâre very much in love at this point.
About Wanda and Vision meeting and how:
What can you say about both of your characters and what theyâve been doing between the events of Civil War and now?
Olsen: We have stayed separate teams and the people on Capâs side have been fighting more rogue missions. Hence, we all look a bit different to suggest being in hiding and weâve been trying to within that time find points of meeting in different places in order to try and forward our relationship.
How does Vision go undercover?
Bettany: Well, you either travel to different Mardi Gras around the world or Halloween, youâre golden â Â Halloween, itâs his night out â or you discover the ability to change your appearance with nano-technology.
About working together on set:
Can you talk about your dynamics in the film as being a partnership within the team dynamic, right? Are there certain challenges or is it comforting for your characters to have each other within this team but on a more personal and special level?
Bettany: Itâs a pretty dynamic team.
Olsen: Itâs a pretty fun group.
Bettany: Pretty fun group. Friday nights are great. I mean, I donât really understand the question.
Is it comforting to have one person on the team you can rely on in a different way than maybe the rest of the team?
Olsen: Oh, with each other!
Bettany: I think the success of the Marvel films comes from the fact that theyâre made by fans. They really love those characters. When I first came out dressed as Vision, Kevin Feige nearly cried.
